Mandy and Alex's Step 2 Deluxe Art Master Desk review

Alex got this desk as a gift from his Grandparents and he absolutely loves it! The desk was a little unusual to put together as it is thick molded plastic and is fitted together but is then...

9 Gedanken zu “about step 2 art desk

  1. This is great. Took less than 20 minutes to assemble. Stool may need grippers installed if being used on wood or laminate flooring. Some reviews said this isn’t magnetic, but it definitely IS. I even added a photo to prove it. Can’t wait for my daughter to see this!!

  2. She love her desk she is 1 1/2 and she like the paint better the desk is small but she is a small 1 1/2 old the chair is not easy to put together but we got it it is small too I thinl by the time she hit 3 year old I will need to get a new chair

  3. This is an amazing coloring spot for the kids. The small stool fits my 4 year old perfectly, and 7 year old can still use it comfortably. The desk held all the art box (formerly a large storage tote dumped full of all the crap where nothing could ever be found). We fit 10-15 regular sized coloring books in the back side (like a magazine rack). Extra large or odd shaped coloring books don’t really fit back there. The bins are an ok size, and fill easily with paints, crayons, stickers, etc. and the row in the back fills with standard sized large markers. They slide in and out of the slots and it’s clear which slot they will fit into. The easel flips up and down easily and the kids can use the clip feature on the easel quickly. One issue I do see is when the easel is flat the kids tend to push down on it when leaning in to color; I expect over time to possibly have trouble with this, however no issues yet after 1 month of regular use. The kids use it all the time and it helps to keep them organized (thankfully). My husband asked if it was really a present to me (more organized) or for the kids (place to play and color). I’m calling it a win-win overall.

  4. We got this for my kids about 3 years ago and its a great art table, its super easy to put together I put it together myself and it took me about 20 min. The whole thing it very sturdy and has taken abuse for like I said 3 years and it still looks great nothing is breaking and my kids can still use it they are 7 and 8 and you can see they still have plenty of leg room. the chair holds there weight perfectly and they think its comfortable. the table it easy to clean unless you use sun catcher paint then it stains but my kids still love it and use it daily. everything on it is useful but the light there is really no point of it, its really dim and a waste of batteries it really only lights up the top piece of the desk and not even very brightly as for everything else there is a lot of storage space and more than enough room for kids art supplies.

  5. good but not awesome. i feel like the desk will eventually snap off from him leaning in it when he writes. the whiteboard came with a dent. good size and concept tho

  6. This was probably the best gift we could have given my 4 yr old for her birthday. She loves using the desk for all her art and craft projects. The amount of space in the desk is amazing, it holds all her art and craft supplies plus coloring books and sticker books on the sides. I love the two side pockets, they really hold a lot of books and paper supplies. Everything she needs is right there, I don’t have to get any supplies for her from the closet anymore, its all right there for her to take. She usually doesn’t like to sit and do things/play by herself but she loves sitting on the desk and doing her „work“ as she calls it.If your kid loves to make and do things this is the right desk for her/him.

  7. My kids love the Step2 Art Center. It has provided hours of fun and some great artwork. We bought the Step2 Art Center after visiting friends who have the Art Center and noticing how much our kids played with it while we were there. The instructions were easy to follow and it is very sturdy. I would highly recommend the Art Center.

  8. Kid review: my three are 6, 5 and almost 3. They all enjoy painting, coloring and writing stories. The set has ton of cups, containers and slots for them to cram all their stuff. Each has claimed their own area for storage.Assembly: a drill isn’t required but it cut assembly time in half. There aren’t precut holes so if you don’t have a drill you’ll at least need a hammer to tap the screws into place before twisting into the plastic. Instructions are visual so you can see where things should go.Functionality: we added a stool to the table to accommodate two kids coloring at a time. One can sit there while the other sits on the built in bench. My 5 and 6 year old are on the smaller side, so they still fit nicely. I think they’ll be a little too tall by next school year. It’s the perfect height and reachability for my youngest. The easel is smaller than the standard kid’s one we already own so I haven’t found paper that fits yet. It appears the board part is more for either chalk or dry erase designs so I recommend buying those otherwise you’ll end up washing down the board.Overall, for the price it’s a good deal. It combines different types of art (painting, coloring with crayons or markers, drawing on the board) into one convenient location. You can also easily move to different rooms.

  9.  Purchased this for my 21 month old and she went to town immediately sitting on the bench to color and also liked standing at the desk from the other side. She really enjoyed standing at the dry erase area with paper and small canvases clipped here to paint with paint brushes. We rotated paintings at least six times and she still did not want to stop! The art supply organization is plentiful and well thought-out. Appreciate the storage area under the desk top for blank paper or finished product storage. Even with paint everywhere, it was very easy to wipe clean. Imagine she will enjoy many activities at the desk area including building blocks, coloring and even snacks. We haven’t used the backside with the chalk board yet, but imagine it will be equal quality to the other aspects. Many places to use/hang the removable cups around the activity center for various uses (storing paint brushes, crayons, markers, water to rinse paint brushes, etc.)Assembly took approximately 45 minutes.
