  1. I was really excited to get this for my 9 year old son. I remember getting Zartan when I was a kid and it was one of hard to find and one of the best figures in the GI Joe collection. This version looks great, but the product quality has dropped significantly! I didn’t even get it out of the package for him and the left arm snapped at the elbow! Not to mention the proportions on the Chameleon swamp bike are much smaller than the original one which makes it difficult to get the figure onto the vehicle properly. Maybe I can find the old school version on eBay, I’m sure it will stand up to more use than this one has…

  2. This is a really good toy, although there are some problems with it. Here is the first and most obvious reason, the guns are colored blue. All of them, even the crossbow. For collectors this could be a turn off, but you can switch his guns. For parents buying this for your kids, I would expect this would be perfect as it doesn’t let the guns look like they’re actual guns, but makes them look like toys. Another problem is the lack of articulation, especially when he has the cloak on. The cloak is a one piece chest and head attachment, which makes the head articulation no existent. There is also no hip twists and no feet bend. Another problem is the hands, it’s really hard to hold his swords, but when you have a gun you must snake his trigger finger into the trigger area of the gun for him to hold it. I switched his hands out with Alley Vipers gloves though, so it’s fine. There’s also the problem of the switchable heads, the gimmick is you shine line into the giant blobs ontop of the figure heads and it makes it look like their eyes are glowing, it’s a cool gimmick, although it leaves blobs on their heads. This is prevented by the hood, as the hood covers up most of the blob. The only problem is it limits your articulation. The good in this figure? The colors are FANTASTIC, it’s very good. The hands I was talking about? Although they’re hard to hold things they are very detailed and look very nice. Zartan looks amazing, and you have 3 heads to swap with him, although 2 of them you must have the hood on. It’s a good toy, and when it gets cheap I suggest you buy it. If you’re a parent who has a kid who really wants G.I. Joe but you’re worried about violence, I would highly consider buying this one.

  3. A new take on Zartan that lacks the trademark face design. The figure shows the cost cutting of early Retaliation Joe figures-no stand and limited articulation.
